Nanoporous Polymer Reflectors for Organic Solar Cells

چکیده
Due to their high transparency, electrodes fabricated from conductive polymers are often implemented in semitransparent organic solar cells. Opaque cells usually employ metal back with reflectivity for best photon confinement the light-harvesting layer. Herein, a bilayer electrode comprising and nanofoamed poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is investigated, latter of which creates diffuse reflection incoming light. By tuning thickness PMMA layer, absorption transmission can be tailored opaque vastly transparent. its diffusive character, this versatile enhances light wavelength regimes lower coefficient. The particularly suited deployment frosted window applications.

Photovoltaics (PVs) consists of the harvesting of energy from sunlight and its conversion into electrical power. This technology is being increasingly recognized as one of the key components in our future global energy scenario. Limited fossil fuel resources and steadily increasing costs of supplying fossil fuels to the market induce a natural limit where renewable energies will begin to kick i...

متن کاملDonor polymer design enables efficient non-fullerene organic solar cells
To achieve efficient organic solar cells, the design of suitable donor-acceptor couples is crucially important. State-of-the-art donor polymers used in fullerene cells may not perform well when they are combined with non-fullerene acceptors, thus new donor polymers need to be developed. Here we report non-fullerene organic solar cells with efficiencies up to 10.9%, enabled by a novel donor poly...
متن کاملColloidal plasmonic back reflectors for light trapping in solar cells.
A novel type of plasmonic light trapping structure is presented in this paper, composed of metal nanoparticles synthesized in colloidal solution and self-assembled in uniform long-range arrays using a wet-coating method. The high monodispersion in size and spherical shape of the gold colloids used in this work allows a precise match between their measured optical properties and electromagnetic ...
